ISO is how sensitive the film is to light and how much light it lets in. the different between ISO and flash is that ISO trys to capture the light and flash adds the light. I would use ISO because I want to capture light at night instead of adding light to a situation when i don't want it. one thing you need to be careful of when using ISO is you cant move and nether can your object that your taking the photo of.
